Live Below the Line Campaign (LBL)
Live Below the Line is a week-long challenge and an eye-opening experience. One that gives you a rare glimpse into the lives of the 1.4 billion people around the world that live in extreme poverty, all the while allowing you to make a difference in their lives!
This project is exactly about living below the line – the poverty line of NZ$2.25 per day. 1.4 billion people all over the world depend on this amount to cover their daily needs; including food, shelter, clothing, education and sanitation.
LBL challenges YOU to try and spend $2.25 on just food and drink, and get your friends to sponsor you through this challenge.
Launched as a global initiative in 2009 by the Global Poverty Project, Live Below the Line was held in New Zealand for the first time in 2011.
Funds raised for P3 Foundation from LBL goes towards the development of villages within the Darjeeling region in India. We have partnered with established charity, the Glenn Family Foundation, providing important needs for the community – food, clean water, education and sanitation.
This week-long challenge happens annually in August. To Live Below the Line this year, email 2012 LBL Campaign Lead Nalini Singh at nalini.singh@p3foundation.org
